This holiday season, we are wishing you happiness, good health, peace and love.
There are ways to create a spa like bathroom at home. A few choice upgrades will transform a regular residential bathroom into a luxurious in-home spa. Read along to find out what selections we suggest to create this reality.
Create your own steam room within your shower. Steam generators are expensive, however there is a way to make your own steam shower. Have the glass installed all the way to the ceiling. There needs to be a vent in the ceiling above the shower, which can be opened and closed. When the vent is closed the steam will accumulate and create the effects of a steam room. With that being said a shower bench is necessary. Having a place to sit and relax during a steam is very important. When upgrading your shower, have a bench installed, which serves more than one purpose. It is a place to sit and relax during a steam and it is easier for women to shave their legs.
When selecting the fixtures for the shower, consider a nice big rain shower head. A rain shower head will provide more water for a more enjoyable shower and rinse. If you really want a spa like feel you may want to install body spray jets in the ceiling or walls of the shower.
Heated floors are a luxurious feature that will really make your bathroom feel like a spa. Basically electrical wiring that generates heat is installed underneath the floors. A feature like this is especially appropriate in colder climates. No matter where you live it is always nice to get out of the shower or bath and have a nice warm floor to walk on.
A heated towel rod is perfect for an in home spa. It warms your towel while you are in the shower. There is nothing better than having a warm towel to wrap up in after bathing.
Making these select upgrades will truly transform a regular bathroom into a spa like sanctuary!
We think you’ll absolutely love these suggestions! If you think standard or conservative flooring designs are beautiful, but don’t feel quite like they match your personality, you’re sure to find something intriguing on this list.
Using tape to outline a faux rug on a solid color floor. Say what? Yes, we know it sounds odd but people are doing it and loving it. Talk about versatility! You can pull it up and redesign as often as you like. If you’re not very concerned about versatility but you love this idea, go ahead and use paint instead of tape.
Tinted wood floors. These are far more subtle than painted wood but still provide you with the opportunity to blend in a little color. Indigo, for example is a beautiful tint on a floor and it hides dirt really well.
Polished cement floors. So chic and understated. Looks good in many different environments, such as a city loft or rustic kitchen.
Floral floor tile designs. This is adorable in any room that is very feminine or botanical. To achieve, mix and match hexagonal tiles to create a pattern that looks like you have big beautiful flowers all over the floor.
Weathered wide plank floors. These have tons of character because of their age and size. Perfect in masculine settings or country homes.
Patterned wood floors. Accomplished by using planks all one color, and the staining them in a pattern. Similar to the way tile floors mix tiles to create shapes. So, staining sections of the wood in the shape of multiple squares for example. You can also do stenciled wood floors using a stencil and contrasting color finish.
Antique tiles from around the world. This would require you to be very good at scavenger hunts in order to compile a collection of coordinating tiles large enough to cover a floor. But it sure looks amazing when it’s done.
High gloss wood. This is very glamorous, but also tricky to maintain. So don’t go for this idea unless you are a neat freak!
